Health & safety

Mobile devices are regulated by federal government standards to ensure they are used safely. TELUS meets or exceeds every standard governing both mobile devices and cell site installations.

Each of TELUS’ wireless installations, or cell sites, are certified to conform to Safety Code 6, a standard administered by Industry Canada. Safety Code 6 sets out requirements governing the safe operation of wireless transmission equipment.

Mobile devices sold by TELUS meet the latest standards governing radio safety levels. They meet SAR (specific absorption rate) standards set by Health Canada and the Federal Communications Commission in the U.S.
