Using Twitter text alerts

Signing up for Twitter alerts allows you to send and receive tweets instantly through text messages.
You will need to sign up at http://twitter.com/devices. After your phone is verified, you can start sending and receiving updates.

• To send an update, send your tweet (under 140 characters) in a text message to “21212”.
• To receive updates on your phone, go to your friends’ page (twitter.com/friends) and turn device updates “on” for those that you want to receive tweets from.
