Making or receiving calls while watching mobile TV

During an incoming call, mobile TV service will be interrupted and you can choose to accept or ignore the call. After completing the call, you choose whether to continue watching or to exit mobile TV.

To make an outgoing call, you must first exit mobile TV.

Navigating the mobile TV channels

Use the following keys to navigate mobile TV:

  • Press the Up and Down keys to navigate through the channel guide.
  • Press Ok to select the desired channel.

 

Changing your language preference

On HTC devices, the language preference set up on your device determines the language preference of the mobile TV application. If you wish to change the language preference of the mobile TV application, or if the language preference hasn’t been correctly detected by the mobile TV application, you need to change the language preference on your device.

On all other devices you can download either the English or the French mobile TV application.

Viewing or changing your mobile TV subscription status

To view or change your current subscription package from your mobile phone:

  1. Launch mobile TV.
  2. From the Home menu select Options, then Help/Settings.
  3. Select Subscriptions. Your current subscription package will display.
  4. To unsubscribe, click Unsubscribe.

    If you unsubscribed from one of the monthly packages, you will still be able to watch mobile TV for 30 days from the time original time of your monthly subscription activation or renewal, at no extra charge. At the end of the 30 days your subscription will automatically discontinue.

Signing up for mobile TV

You can subscribe to mobile TV right from your mobile phone:

  1. Click here to ensure TELUS mobile TV is available on your phone.
  2. Select your handset and follow the download instructions to download mobile TV.
  3. Once the application has been downloaded, select Run to launch mobile TV.
  4. From the Home menu on your mobile phone, select Options, Help/Settings and then Subscriptions. You will be presented with subscription options for TELUS services.
  5. Click on the desired option to Subscribe or click on Conditions for additional information about the service.
  6. Agree to the service terms and conditions and start watching mobile TV instantly.

Previewing mobile TV

Channel 99 is a free preview channel that anyone with access to mobile TV can view without a subscription. After mobile TV application is launched, select Channel 99 from the Channel Guide.

Changing screen display options

Depending on your device, some devices offer different display views: Full screen, Vertical or Horizontal. If the option is available on your device, it can be accessed by clicking on Options and then selecting Full Screen.


Troubleshooting

 

What do I do if I get an error message?

If you are experiencing technical difficulties or receive an error message, click on Home to refresh.

If the problem persists, exit mobile TV, power off your phone, remove the battery, restart your phone and re-launch mobile TV.

If you need assistance, dial *611 from your phone or call toll-free at 1-866-558-2273 to speak to a Client Care agent. You might be asked to use another phone while troubleshooting.

Visual and sound troubleshooting tips.

Check your current subscription status. You must have a subscription to watch mobile TV. To check your subscription status:

  1. Launch TELUS mobile TV.
  2. From the Home menu select Settings.
  3. Select Subscriptions. Your current subscription package will display.

Check the volume setting on your phone.

Check the signal bar/reception on your phone’s homescreen. Mobile TV is available anywhere within our extensive national 3G (EVDO) and digital 1X coverage areas. View coverage maps. Mobile TV is also available when travelling to the US with applicable roaming charges.

What Video quality should I expect?

TELUS mobile TV delivers enhanced digital audio and visual quality signal to your mobile phone using Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) technology. RTSP allows the end-user to remotely control a streaming media server for a real-time, instantaneous access to its files allowing such functionality as change of the TV channels.

Does mobile TV carry local channels?

TELUS mobile TV currently doesn't offer any local TV channels.

Can I watch my mobile TV when I travel to the U.S.?

Mobile TV is available when travelling to the U.S. Roaming charges apply.

How can I get mobile TV on my phone?
