A SIM Card is a small removable card that is inserted into the back of a phone. TELUS 3G+ devices require a SIM Card in order to function and access TELUS network services.
The TELUS SIM Card gives clients access to TELUS’ 3G+ network. SIM Cards allow clients to easily take their account information and service from one phone to another for immediate use.
On most devices, open the back of the phone and remove the battery. Push the card into the SIM slot, which often has an image of the SIM Card. Ensure that the slanted corner is facing the right way and that the SIM Card is pushed all the way in.
Using an iPhone?
A TELUS SIM Card can be used with any TELUS 3G+ device. It can also be used in some unlocked non TELUS devices (that uses HSPA technology). Check your device’s compatibility with our mobile network.
You can remove your SIM Card from your existing TELUS device and insert it into your new TELUS device. If you are using a non TELUS device (using HSPA technology), ensure that your new device is compatible with the TELUS network, is unlocked, and that you have the right rate plan.

You have reached the card’s memory capacity and no additional information may be stored unless you free up memory by deleting saved SMS messages or address book entries.

On most devices you can slide off the back panel, remove the battery, and then carefully slide or push the SIM card from the slot. Do not pry it out.

Ensure that you erase all private and sensitive SIM card data and contact us to deactivate it before disposing of your card in a regular recycling bin. If you are giving your TELUS SIM card to a friend, ensure that you contact TELUS Client Care at 1-888-552-3333 to transfer ownership (subject to approved credit). Until this transfer is complete, you are still obligated to pay for any SIM card activity.

Yes, voice and SMS will work in all devices as long as the device supports it. For example, Internet Keys do not support voice, so you will not be able to make or receive calls.
Both BlackBerries and Internet Keys require specific rate plans for data to work, when swapping devices to one of these devices, you need to ensure you have a BlackBerry plan for BlackBerry Smartphones and Mobile High Speed Plans for Internet Keys.
