Automatic text messages from TELUS Data Notifications help you manage your data usage.
Whether you use a phone, a smartphone, or a mobile Internet key, TELUS will send you a text notification when you're close to using all of the data included in your monthly rate plan or Data Add-on feature.
Data Notifications help track your use so you can adjust your data package if necessary.
If you have a data package, we'll let you know when you've reached 75% and 95% of your data limit, so you can change your data package or adjust your usage accordingly.
If you're using data pay-per-use we'll let you know when you've used $10 and then $50 so you can decide to add to your data limit or adjust your use accordingly.
Data notifications are free.
Data notifications work on all TELUS 3G and 3G+ handsets.
You can opt out of receiving notifications. Log in to your TELUS account. Register if you don't have one.
Data notifications are enabled by default unless you have a Cost Assure, Mobile High Speed Flex Plan, Data Pooling, or Data Sharing plan.
If your plan includes a Canadian data bucket only, you're notified when you've reached 75% and 95% of your included data.
If your plan includes a data bucket, you're notified when you are $10 and $50 over your data limit.
If you are using a mobile Internet key, you receive notifications in your connection manager.
If you're about to exceed your data limit, consider switching plans or Data Add-ons.
The amount of data sent or received by a device is measured in kilobytes (KB) and is presented on the invoice in megabytes (MB). 1024 KB = 1 MB. 1024 MB = 1 GB.
