Our new network

TELUS is committed to offering the best selection of wireless devices and service experience possible no matter what technology is running in the background. Our new 3G+ network uses the most advanced wireless technology available, HSPA+, providing "broadband-like" data speeds.

Compare our 3G+ coverage

TELUS gives you access to Canada's largest 3G+ network, which covers 93% of the Canadian population. In fact, it's 2x larger than the 3G+ coverage offered by Rogers‡. That means that our 3G+ devices will never revert to slower technology, no matter where you travel in Canada.

Facts about TELUS' 3G+ network

  • Runs on 1900/850 MHz frequency bands and uses standard 3GPP SIM cards.
  • Offers theoretical peak download speeds of 21.6 Mbps and 5.76 upload speeds.

Actual speed may vary by device and due to congestion, distance from the cell, local conditions, hardware, software and other factors, therefore typical speeds will range from 4-6 Mbps (download) and 2-4 Mbps (upload).

  • Runs on network infrastructure that has been purpose-built from the ground up.
  • Uses separate channels (parts of the wireless signal) for the data and voice components, so that capacity is reserved for data.
