TELUS Mobile Backup

With TELUS Mobile Backup, you get peace of mind knowing that you won’t lose your contact information if your phone is lost, stolen or broken. TELUS Mobile Backup securely backs up your mobile phone's address book to a secure TELUS server accessible from your phone or online TELUS account.

If anything happens to your phone, you can use TELUS Mobile Backup to wirelessly restore your contacts to your new or replacement phone. In the case of theft, you can also use TELUS Mobile Backup to purge your contacts off of your phone to protect their privacy.

Once your contacts are online, you can use your TELUS account to manage, update and print this information. Any changes you make online are also updated on your handset.

Downloading Mobile Backup-software

Before using Mobile Backup for the first time, you have to download and install its software onto your handset.

1. From your phone's main menu, select tool & applications.
2. Select new tools.
3. Select tools & applications.
4. Select phonebook backup.
5. Select TELUS mobile backup.
6. Select download now and press OK.
7. When informed that mobile backup has been saved, select run and press OK.

Setting up Mobile Backup

1. From your phone's main menu, select tools & applications.
2. Select TELUS Mobile Backup and press OK to start the application.
3. At the welcome screen, press OK (the right soft key).
4. Press yes to verify your phone number.
5. When prompted, enter a four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN).
6. By default, Mobile Backup does a daily backup at the same time you set up the software. To change the schedule, select menu in Mobile Backup and then select set schedule.

Restoring your information on a new handset

Download Mobile Backup on your new phone and the change will be detected automatically. Verify the change with the PIN you set up and your information will start to automatically download onto your new handset.

Managing your information online

Mobile Backup also provides secure web access to the backed up version of your phone's address book. From your web address book you can add, edit, print, delete and undelete contacts.

Log into your TELUS account to manage your information. You can update your handset with any changes online as well.
