Using GPS technology, Kid Find gives parents and trusted caregivers the ability to locate loved ones in real time using a TELUS handset or the Internet. Only family members sharing the same TELUS account or assigned individuals can access this sensitive information.
TELUS Kid Find will work anywhere within our GPS coverage area.
To use Kid Find to locate your children, you need a parent phone and a kid phone set up. All TELUS phones are kid phone capable, so most of the set up work is done using the parent phone.
Look at the list of parent phones to see if your phone is capable.
If you do not have a compatible phone, you can continue to use Kid Find from your computer:
To sign up for Kid Find, you must be the account owner or administrator and you can either sign up online at using your TELUS account or by calling *611.

Only people you give permission to can locate your children.
The kid phone must be turned ON to be located.
Only mobile phone and smartphone clients on monthly rate plans can subscribe to Kid Find, and only the account owner or a person responsible for the account can add Kid Find to their account.
You can locate any person within your TELUS account and your default family list is generated from your account member list.
To locate a person outside of your account, their account owner must give you permission to locate them by providing you authorization. Administrative authorization grants full access to locate any member within the account, and to view and modify all subscriber information in the account. This high level of security ensures that only authorized, trusted people are provided access to locate another person’s children.
The person you would like to locate must grant you permission by providing you with their account information: client account number, PIN, and either their postal code or last invoice amount. To add this person to your Kid Find service:
Our GPS services are designed with your privacy and security in mind and are subject to our privacy policy. TELUS GPS services use a comprehensive suite of security arrangements to ensure safeguarding your information:
Your kids will know they are part of Kid Find because a text message is sent to the kid phone informing that location information will be collected. Also each time someone is located through Kid Find, a blinking GPS icon appears on their phone screen.
If there is an
icon on your phone screen, it is GPS and Kid Find-enabled.
You can make a kid phone ‘unfindable’ by turning off its GPS availability, which disables access to all GPS services. For specific information, consult your phone's user guide.
Breadcrumbs are the virtual trail or history of lookups that can be viewed on from the Kid Find application on a phone or Kid Find online using your TELUS account.
