Using Voice
Recognition on the Kyocera KE424C
Voice recognition allows you to make and answer
calls by speaking commands into the phone's microphone.
NOTE: You cannot use voice recognition to end a call; you must
press .
Setting Up Voice Dialing
To make or receive calls using voice recognition (voice
dialing), contacts must be saved and have associated voice tags.
Creating a Voice Tag
for a Contacts

the Contacts menu, press the down
to scroll to 'Add Voice Dial' and press . |

Follow
the voice prompts to record a name for the contact. |

Highlight
an option:
- Add new - Save a new contact to go with
the voice tag
- Add to existing - Add the voice tag
to a saved contact
Follow the prompts to add the Voice Dial to your contact. |

Viewing Entries with
Voice Tags

to scroll to 'Voice Dial List' and press .
A list of all contacts with assigned voice

Editing a Voice Tag

the nav key, highlight the contact you want to edit, and press
to select it. |

Calling Using Voice Tags

the standby screen, press .
The phone responds: "Say a name." |

Say
the name of the person you wish to call. |

If the name you said matches a contact
in the Voice Dial List, the phone responds: "Calling
(Name)."
Remain silent to make the call, or say
"No" to cancel. |

If the phone finds multiple voice tags
that sound like the name you said, you will be asked to verify
which name you want to call. Say "Yes"
when you hear the correct name. Say "No"
when you hear an incorrect name.

you are finished, press .
You cannot end the call with a voice command. |

Using Voice Features with Accessories
You can use voice commands only if your phone is connected
to an accessory such as a hands-free car kit or headset.

Voice Wake-Up does not work with Keyguard active. Disable the Keyguard
before using this function.

- 'Incoming call from (Name), answer?'

" Yes" and press any key except
to answer the call. |

Ignoring an Incoming
Call

Say " No" and
press
to silence the alert.

Remain
silent. The voice alert repeats twice and the phone rings
once, then returns to the standby screen. |

Training Voice Recognition
If your phone is having trouble recognizing your voice, you can train
it with the commands "Yes," "No," and "Wake up."
