user. Cost effective and easy to install, a phone cable kit connects your
laptop to your 1X phone, allowing you to use your 1X phone as a modem
to connect to the Connect rate plan service. All you need is a 1X phone,
a phone cable kit, and a Connect rate plan and you can enjoy
the productivity and freedom of mobile computing on TELUS Mobility's national
3G network.

What you can do with a Megabyte (MB)?
With one MB you can send or receive approximately 200 e-mail messages
(average 5 Kb/e-mail) without attachments. Or, you can access 50 Web pages
(average 20 Kb/downloaded page, not a lot of graphics).

What is Dollar Pooling?
Dollar Pooling allows you to take the unused
minutes or megabytes (MB) from one service and apply it to overage charges
generated by another service.
How does it work?
Any unused MBs from data plans or unused minutes from PCS TALK plans are
converted to dollars. These dollars can then be used to ‘pay for’
any overage charges on pool-able Connect rate plan or TALK
plans on the same monthly bill. A minimum of five subscribers is required
to add on Dollar Pooling.

Service Area
Connect rate plan gives you maximum coverage throughout Canada on our
PCS digital network. TELUS Mobility's 1X network covers more than 27 million
Canadians in major urban centres across the country including Victoria,
Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto and
Southern Ontario, Ottawa, Montréal, Québec City, and Halifax.
We continue to expand outside those urban locations, including our new
service areas in smaller population centres across Ontario, Québec,
and the Atlantic provinces. View our 1X

Connect rate plan is also available
throughout the US with our roaming partner. US roaming is charged at $10
per megabyte.

Speed
The 1X network will deliver speeds up to 144 Kbps,
with average speeds of 40-60 Kbps. That's at least as fast as your land
line dial-up modem – but it's wireless!

What You Need
It’s simple. All you need is:
- A 1X capable TELUS Mobility phone (Audiovox cdm8150, Audiovox cdm8300,
Motorola V.120x, LG TM520, Samsung SPH A520 or Samsung SPH A540).
- Subscription to the Connect rate plan service
- Connect rate plan Phone Cable Kit– includes USB cable
- A compatible computing device:
- Laptops with a USB port: Windows 98, 2000, ME or XP
- PDA: not supported
