PCS Online for your Laptop
About PCS Online
TELUS Mobility's PCS Online Service turns your Web ready phone into a
wireless modem so that you can send and receive information from your
laptop anywhere in our digital service area. Once you're connected with
PCS Online, you can use standard commercial fax, e-mail, remote access
and Web browser software.
All you need is a TELUS Mobility Web ready PCS phone, a subscription
to our PCS Online add-on service plan and the cable that comes with the
PCS Online Wireless Modem Kit (sold separately) to attach your TELUS Mobility
PCS phone to your laptop.
With PCS Online, you can:
- surf the Web
- access your company network
- schedule a meeting and check your calendar in real time
- send and receive e-mail, faxes and file attachments
- use instant messaging and other Web-enabled applications
- access your corporate intranet and online databases
- connect to the Internet in seconds with Quick Net Connect (QNC). With
QNC, TELUS Mobility is your Internet Service Provider (ISP) - just dial

A PCS wireless modem operates at a maximum of 14.4 Kbps.

Getting Started
PCS Online is available throughout TELUS Mobility's extensive digital
CDMA (code division multiple access) network in British Columbia, Alberta,
Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, and Nova Scotia.
Getting Started is simple. All you need is your compatible laptop and the following:
- TELUS Mobility Web ready digital phone
- PCS Wireless Modem Kit for your phone
- Subscription to the PCS Online service plan

can be purchased at any TELUS Mobility dealer or store, or you can order
online through our Web

Wireless Modem Kits
Wireless Modem Kits include a special cable that connects your Web ready
phone to your laptop's serial port. Once connected, your computer uses
your phone as a wireless modem to access the Internet. Our easy-to-use
Wireless Modem Kits are available at your local TELUS Mobility dealer
or via the TELUS
Mobility Web Store.
Each Wireless Modem Kit includes:
- CD-ROM - Easy-to-use software to get you up and running quickly,
also includes Venturi Compression Software.
- Connectivity Cable - Connects your TELUS Mobility Web ready
phone to your laptop.
- User Guide - Includes easy to follow, step by step installation
instructions.
