Mike Online for your Laptop
About Mike Online
TELUS Mobility's Mike Online service turns your "plus" series or "J2ME
enabled" series Mike phone into a wireless modem so that you
can send and receive information from your laptop or Palm computer anywhere
in our digital service area. Once you're connected with Mike Online, you
can use standard commercial fax, e-mail, remote access and Web browser
software.
All you need is the cable that comes with the Mike Wireless Modem Kit
(sold separately) to attach your Mike phone to your computer. The Mike
Network handles this type of call the same way a land line processes a
call to access a network or the Internet.
With Mike Online, you can:
- surf the Web
- access your company network
- schedule a meeting and check your calendar in real time
- send and receive e-mail, faxes and file attachments
- use instant messaging and other Web-enabled applications
- access your corporate intranet and online databases
A Mike wireless modem operates at a maximum of 9.6 Kbps.
Getting Started
Mike Online is available throughout TELUS Mobility's Mike coverage area
in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Québec.
Getting Started is simple. All you need is your compatible laptop and
the following:
- TELUS Mobility Web ready Mike phone
- Mike Online Wireless Modem Kit - available from Mike and TELUS Mobility
dealers
- Subscription to the Mike Online service plan
Compatible Mike Phones
Mike Online can be used with these "plus" series and "J2ME
enabled" series Mike phones, which can be purchased at any
TELUS Mobility Mike dealer, or you can order online through the TELUS
Mobility Web Store.

Wireless Modem Kits
Wireless Modem Kits include a special cable that connects your Web ready phone to your laptop's serial port. Once connected, your laptop
uses your Mike as a wireless modem to access the Internet and online services.
You can purchase a Mike Wireless Modem kit at most authorized TELUS Mobility
Mike dealers, or you can order online through the TELUS
Mobility Web Store. You should call ahead to make sure the kit you
need is available at that location.

By subscribing to TELUS Mobility's Mike Online service, your laptop,
can use your phone to send and receive data over the Mike digital network.
You can add Mike Online to your existing rate plan for $5 per month. Your
usage for Mike Online shares your monthly allotment of minutes in your
voice plan*.
