Hotspot
TELUS Mobility's Hotspots are the ideal way to stay connected, no matter
where your work takes you. With key sites across Canada, Wi-Fi Hotspots
provide high-speed (802.11) Internet access where you need it most - at
airports, hotels, convention centres, cafés and restaurants.
What's new
Now you can subscribe for TELUS Mobility's Hotspot service. As of July 25,
2005, TELUS Mobility clients with an existing Mike or PCS post-paid voice
or data plan can add the Hotspot feature subscription to their account.
This will allow subscribers to access any Hotspot nationally without having
to purchase Pay Per Use access every time their account reaches zero. Ideal
for frequent travelers and executives on the go, Hotspot National Unlimited
Subscription provides cost certainty and savings while allowing you to access
TELUS Mobility and roaming partner Hotspots.
What you can do
TELUS Mobility's Hotspots provide access to the Internet at various sites
across Canada including airports, conference centres, hotels, cafes and
restaurants.
TELUS Mobility's Hotspots are compatible with many Virtual Private Network
(VPN)* solutions to provide secure access to your business applications.
Now it's easy to stay connected and be productive on the go.
* To access your corporate e-mail and other applications,
you may need a security solution (VPN or Virtual Private Network). Please
contact your Information Technology department or your TELUS representative
for more information.
Where you can go
The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA), in conjunction
with national wireless service providers Bell Mobility, Fido, Rogers Wireless
and TELUS Mobility, announced the launch of inter-carrier Wi-Fi service,
with more than 500 Hotspot locations.
This new Hotspot network, the broadest inter-carrier undertaking of its
kind in North America, allows for cross-Canada roaming between carrier-run
Hotspots.
This new agreement will allow TELUS Mobility clients to access any roaming
partner's Hotspot with their TELUS Mobility username and password, making
access to Hotspots easier and more convenient.
