PCS U.S. Coverage
Traveling in the United States?
With our automatic U.S. roaming service, you can take your TELUS Mobility 1X phone or data device to hundreds of cities across the United States, and access all the great PCS phone and data features you enjoy at home.
You can also access Wireless High Speed (EVDO) roaming in over 245 cities
in the U.S for broadband-like connections to the Internet, corporate Intranets,
email servers, music downloads, streaming video and other multimedia applications
when you travel across the border.
What you pay
We've made U.S. voice and data roaming simple. You don't have to sign up, just take your phone and go. Just like at home, airtime and long distance are billed in Canadian dollars so there's no need to worry about U.S. exchange rates.

What you need to know
You do not have to sign up. Roaming is automatically available on your
TELUS Mobility PCS phone. Here's what you need to know about roaming in
the U.S.
Before you leave Canada
1X access
Before you travel to the U.S., you will need to download a new roaming list on your 1X handset to enhance your data roaming connection. The enhancement takes approximately three minutes to complete and must be done within our digital PCS coverage areas in Canada. Click here for details.
Wireless High Speed access
To take advantage of Wireless High Speed roaming in the U.S., you will need a capable device, an upgrade to your roaming list, and in some cases, a handset firmware upgrade prior to leaving Canada. Click here for details.
Airtime & data usage
Minutes used while roaming in the U.S. are not applied towards any included monthly and unlimited weekend or weeknight minutes offered with your TELUS Mobility rate plan. Free local calling on your birthday is only available within Canada.
Data used while roaming in the U.S. is not applied towards any included monthly and/or unlimited packages offered with your TELUS Mobility rate plan. Charges for browser services in the U.S. may vary based on the coverage area you are in and the type of browser your handset supports.
Voice Mail access
Voice Mail notification may not be available in all of our service areas while roaming in the U.S. To check your Voice Mail using your TELUS Mobility PCS phone in the U.S., dial your PCS phone number (1+ area code + your phone number). When you hear your greeting, press * and enter your password. Local airtime and long distance charges will apply.

TELUS Mobility offers you automatic 1X roaming in hundreds of major U.S. cities and Wireless High Speed roaming in over 245 cities**.
* U.S. roaming is not available with TELUS Mobility's Pay & Talk service.
** Coverage may vary and could be available outside these major urban areas. Coverage is dependent upon handset type and software release. Basic features will work in all TELUS Mobility and roaming partners coverage areas. Digital features will work in TELUS Mobility digital coverage areas and may vary within roaming partners digital coverage areas.
